Although Harbor Road does not employ a professional groomer, our kennel staff will be very happy to bathe and brush out your pet.  This service also includes a nail trim.  Plan on dropping off your pet first thing in the morning, and pick-up is generally between 1 and 4, depending on how long your pet takes to dry.  Pets being groomed must be current on vacccinations.  Please call for more information and to schedule a bath for your pet.

Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. We have access to trained animal behaviorists via fax.  A detailed questionnaire, filled out by you, helps these behaviorists determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior.  They can then develop a customized treatment regimen for your pet.

Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised outdoor walks for your dogs.

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Our technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup.  We also carry many dental products to help you maintain your pets' good dental health.

Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital participates in an emergency rotation with three local hospitals.  We rotate evening and weekend emergency coverage with them.  If you are a current Harbor Road client and you have an emergency, call the office number and the answering service will contact the on-call hospital.

Emergency coverage is only available to current* Harbor Road clients.  If you are NOT a current Harbor Road client, please call the the Animal Emergency Clinic at 878-3121.

Large Animal Clients:  Please be aware that these hospitals do not practice large animal medicine, so you must have other arrangements for your large animal emergencies made ahead of time.

*Current means that a Harbor Road veterinarian has examined your pet within the last year. 

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.

We will do our best to accommodate requests for house call.  Please be aware that some procedures are better done here at the hospital where the doctor has access to our staff and equipment.  If you do require a house call, please call as far ahead as possible, as this gives us the best opportunity to arrange the schedule to suit you.

We offer the best surgical techniques for all of your patients.  Patients are carefully screened and anesthetics are specifially tailored to your pet.  Our  doctors have advanced training and years of experience in all routine and soft-tissue surgeries.  Every surgical procedure is monitored by our highly trained staff for ECG, pulse oximetry, blood pressure as well as intensive post-operative care.
